Women Who Inspire

Photo Julia Child  Julia Child, born August 15, 1912, became a famous American chef, by courageously pursuing her passion for cooking while in Paris. While living there, she enrolled herself into the famous French cooking school called “The Cordon Bleu”. She was in an all male chef class and felt the pressure of the competition, but by being a very committed and determined woman, she successfully completed the course to earn Le Grand Diplome. She is notably honored for bringing French cooking to the American public in her participation in creating the book “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”. Following this she brought to television her a well loved cooking show “The French Chef”. Julia has received a prestigious Award and many Emmy’s for her work.

On her TV cooking show, Julia’s warm wonderful down to earth and engaging personality gave courage to the women watching, that they too could take on the seemingly complicated recipes of the French Masters. She could prove it to you and make you believe that you could do anything. If she could do it, you can do it too! She demonstrated that making mistakes is all part of the process of learning. You just keep going until it is finished. Julia delightfully demonstrates that one of the most important skills needed for learning how to cook is “to just have fun”.

Why We Love Julia: Julia Child is authentic, engaging, passionate about her work, determined, confident, has her very own unique style, courageous, first class, kindness, gives her best, works hard, studies her craft, she is the go-to-expert, stands her ground, considers the needs of others, wants the best for her audience and she is globally respectful.
